pH Value: In chemistry, historically pH denotes the “potential of hydrogen”, it is a quantitative measurement of the acidity or basicity of an aqueous solution. The pH scale indicates the concentration of hydrogen ions in the solutions. pH scale ranges from 0-14. If the pH scale is less than 7, it means the substance is acidic. If the pH level is 7, it means the substance is neutral, and if the pH scale is more than 7, it denotes the substance is a base. The litmus test is the indicator that determines whether the substance is acid or base. If the litmus turns the blue paper to red, it indicates the substance is acid whereas if the litmus turns the red paper to blue, it indicates the substance is base
